Below is a picture of a bulldog I found on the internet with some breeder bragging about how wide their dog was. And the reason for breeding for a wider dog???? There has to be some justification for breeding for a specific characteristic, especially in  the boer goat.  The common answer given is "The larger the frame, the more meat you can hang on it." That is a poor answer that has little fact associated with it. When you look at articles related to meat goat carcass analysis, the chest is not even mentioned as a significant source of meat.
