We decided to become a distributor for "Port-A-Hut" sheds because we have been very satisfied users of them since 1998. We have used several different sizes of the sheds and have found them to do a very good job for helping us raise our boer goats. We became a distributor because so many of our farm and web site visitors wanted to know where they could get them. We could show you pictures of the new sheds but it is more impressive to show you our used sheds and how they have held up from the wear and tear  of the goats and the weather.

These are  4 1/2 x 7 ft. sheds. They were a year old at the time of the picture. We use this size of shed for the following uses:

  • a sick animal

  • isolating an animal

  • holding a doe and kids for 3-5 days after birth

  • temporary shelter for does to be bred

One of our original Port-A-Hut sheds bought in 1998 and pictured in 2006

One of our 6x11 sheds. This one is 7 years old. We use the 6x11 in the following ways:

  • Kidding shed. Has room for the doe to move around during the kidding and not lay on her kids already born.
  • Shelter for a small number of animals for an extended time.
  • In extended bad weather, a few animals can be sheltered and fed inside the shed.
  • This size has become our default preferred size of shed for general use

This is an 8x14 shed and is two years old. We use the 8x14 in the following ways:

  • Permanent shelter for our breeding bucks. Animals can have good shelter and be fed inside during extended bad weather.

  • Extended shelter for multiple does with young kids or groups of kids being weaned

This is a 14x21 shed with the optional door. It is 2 years old. We consider the following uses for this size of shed.

  • Storage for tractor or vehicle

  • Storage for anything

  • Alternative to a barn. It is cheaper to have 3 of these sheds instead of a 36x36 barn built. It could have more room. You can have the space better divided to separate your animals than just being in one building.
