MCR Reloaded Ammo to be Sold
Spring of 2011
| We want to let breeders know that
we will be selling Reloaded Ammo in the spring of 2011 after his
kids have arrived from this breeding season. This has been our plan
ever since we purchased him this summer. We received an email from a
breeder shortly after we purchased him wanting to know how we can
justify paying a premium for a buck like Ammo.
We responded to the email by saying that is very difficult to do since we don't do flushes. However, our strategy was to purchase a top quality buck with the genetics we were looking for, breed with him for one season and then put him up for sale at a reduced price. This is much cheaper than breeding with a buck outside of our farm. We also sold several does bred to Ammo to get some additional return
on our initial investment. Our intention has always been to add RRD
Ruger genetics into our herd and then line breed between the Ruger
genetics and the Painted Warrior genetics. Here is a link to the article we wrote about why we purchased
Reloaded Ammo. If you look at our breeding schedule at http://www.jackmauldin.com/breeding_schedule.htm, you will see Ammo has been selected to breed the majority of our does this year. We have also purchased several does this year with RRD Ruger genetics. They are

| If you consider the genetics of the above
Does, that Reloaded Ammo is double bred RRD Ruger and all of the
kids we will have with the genetics, that will give us a large
amount of the RRD Ruger bloodlines in our breeding program. We will
be selecting new buck kids from this upcoming kid crop to add to our
breeding bucks for the future. We are very excited about this
strategy and what we believe our potential will be next year. This page will remain on the web site and we will post pictures of the Ammo kids as they reach weaning age for breeders to see the quality of the kids he produces. We will also add a picture of Ammo next spring to show how he has grown since we purchased him. You have now read our strategy before Ammo's kids start to arrive. Watch to see if this strategy works out for us this winter. |
