Our continuation to improve the quality of the genetics we offer On March 26, 2011, we participated, via the internet, in "The Other Sale". We were looking for quality color genetics to add to our breeding program. We are very excited about the purchases we made and the does we will be bringing into our breeding program for this fall. Below are the Does we purchased and some reference bucks we wanted to add their genetics to our breeding program. We spent most of our kids future inheritance at this sale and hope they don't mind.

Lot #1 - SGR Stimulus's Painted Girl We had listed this
doe as our primary objective to purchase. |

|
Lot #15 - WARD RED HOT CHILI PEPPER
This was the second doe we wanted to make sure we tried to buy. What a powerful little doe this is. She will be a year old this fall and ready to breed. She is a granddaughter to AK-47 and great granddaughter of Ruger. Both of those bucks sold for more than $40,000 each in the past. If it hadn't have been for another buyer buying an animal for a few hundred dollars more than we paid for this girl, we would have bought the highest price animal at the sale. Three different times Anita and I decided to stop bidding but every time I looked at her I decided to bid just once more.

Lot #44 - RRD RUGER'S RED SURPRISE Z546 This was our third "must have" doe from the sale. She has a powerful pedigree. First, she is a daughter of Ruger. Second, she is the granddaughter of "The Big Cat". You can see a picture of "The Big Cat" below. This doe will be one year old this fall and ready to breed. |

Lot #72 - RRD CAT'S SURPRISE X120 This is a daughter of "The Big Cat" shown above. She is also the dam of Lot #44, Ruger's Red Surprise. Finally, she is bred to Gauge to kid the first part of April. Gauge currently has the most Ennobled points of any animal in ABGA and is the sire of at least 15 Ennobled animals. Agnew's Collateral Damage, shown below, is one of his sons. The purchase of this one was a surprise to Anita. After we purchased lot #44, we agreed we had spent more than enough money at this sale. Anita left the room while I continued to watch the sale to document all of the prices. We had talked about considering trying to buy this doe if we could not get one or more of the three that we had already purchased. The bid on her started out slow and did not seem like it was going to be as much as we expected. So I decided to bid just one time... well maybe it turned into 3-4 bids and all of a sudden, I had bought her and was going to have to face Anita shortly to tell her maybe I bought just one more doe. |
